Ivan has 15 years of experience in the craft of aquavit production. He is the former Master blender and director of research and development at the world’s largest aquavit manufacturer. He holds a master’s degree in Food Science.
Ivan has the X factor. We refer to him as our oracle. At every step of the way of making aquavit, he knows the best way to proceed. It feels like magic, but we know it comes down to a working life spent honing knowledge and experience.
Rune turns knowledge into ideas, and ideas into aquavit. He has worked with aquavits for over a decade.
Rune holds a master’s degree in Food Science and has extensive experience in the food and beverage industry. Before founding MEIR, he worked on developing the product line at the world`s largest aquavit producer. But above knowledge sits passion. Rune’s passion for bringing the world a genuinely Scandinavian experience, the finest aquavit, is his driving force.
With a background in product development and service design, Kristoffer makes sure that the MEIR brand concept and design stay artistically and commercially relevant. He has full control of the value chain and is in command of the big picture when others are deep in the details.
Simen is the MEIR apprentice, and as Ivan’s son, literally part of the family. He learns from the best in the game, and he is soaking up the knowledge. Being a supertaster, we can always trust him for insights far beyond the average palate.
Thomas is the chairman of our board, maintaining the structures we work and create within.
Arne is the raconteur of Norwegian food culture. He is a proud member of the board. And he uplifts us with his international experience and savvy communication skills.
Entrepreneurial spirit, and successful restaurateur. Børre is a proud member of the board.
Rolf is our dedicated board member, strategist, and number cruncher, as well as wine- and aquavit enthusiast. He keeps us on our toes when it comes to following budgets and using our funds wisely.
Our floating head of graphic design. Remi does the kind of graphic design you want to hang on your wall. He made the perfect symbol for MEIR, by using his unsurpassed skills, understanding our ideas, and updating the Valdres Rose, and turning it into the multisensory MEIR Rose. Updated for the present with roots in the past.
Protea are the masters of development and ageing. Old knowledge is being refined and developed by our friend William, who took over the family business in Cognac. Laurent is Protea’s oenologist and scientist, who puts his sharp mind to the task of getting the best out of MEIR.
A selection of MEIR aquavits are made among the Norwegian mountains and fjords. We work closely with Stig Bareksten, Markus Gselmann, and the crew at OSS Craft Distillery, an award-winning distillery in Bergen, Norway.
